AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAMBER
Founded in 1892, the Chamber exists to serve its Members' interests, both in Eastbourne and the surrounding area. It is a local independent company with over 600 Members and as such, is one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in Sussex.
The Chamber works to support and promote the businesses of Eastbourne and the surrounding area. Its main aim is to promote growth in and around Eastbourne through the success of its Member companies. The Chamber's great strength is its commitment to Eastbourne and its independence. Local issues are dealt with locally, regardless of influence from regional or national authorities and it can react quickly to a whole range of issues which affect local businesses and people.
The wide range of businesses within the Membership gives the Chamber an effective voice in representing the views of the Membership at all times. It offers efficient support, and information on a wide variety of subjects to Members and the public alike, whilst offering networking opportunities at both business and social events.
Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce strongly believes that Eastbourne is an environmentally friendly business location with a positive approach to sustainable growth and a firm commitment to employee development. The Chamber firmly believes that Eastbourne offers a high quality of life outside the business environment and fully supports Eastbourne Reborn's prime objective in that Eastbourne should be clean, green and innovative.
